WHAT THE FUCKS HAPPNIN WITH THE LAST JUBILEE FESTIVAL ?

so we were booked to play The Last Jubilee Festival at Bath Racecourse. It all smelled a bit fishy but we took the booking and agreed to play two shows there at a seriously discounted fee. We were to be joined by loads of o.a.p punk bands from the original punk era. Tickets were announced at £150 and the public backlash was huge!! They dropped the price to £125. but still….
joinung us at the event were Buzzcocks, Bad Manners, Glen Matlock, Ruts DC, The Selector, The Damned, UK Subs, Eddie & THe Hot Rods, The Beat, The Rezillos, ATV and loads more
Months passed by……….
Then suddenly one week before the event we received a message on facebook:
It is with great regret that we have had to take the decision to reduce your fee by 50%. We do however (in addition to the fee) offer the band 2 free tickets to the whole festival…
ahahah. We told then to go fuck themselves. Then after a bit of arguing and public dissing and piss taking they offered us the full fee again. And then a day later changed their mind and pulled us off the event completely. WTF!!! ! ! We were a bit gutted but hey fuck it….
In the aftermath of that bollocks i phoned up The GLobe venue in Cardiff and spoke to Tuan.. Top bloke who hosted our Phone in Sick Party in January. Even though he likes the Queen he somehow agreed to host a FUCK THE JUBILEE party!!! He loved the sicknote tribe last time and with only 5 days to go – he was willing to get involved. RESPECT.
We announced that we had fallen out with the Festival Organisers, had been banned from playing the festy and was now organising our own party…. we managed to book in some of our favourite acts including: The newly reformed BRUTAL all girl punk bank, The Physicists; London hipsters My BAd Sister, top bloke Mike Freear of Slamboree; and, Tantrum resident, DJ Tommy Tank – all at last minute – they were up for it!!!
2 days later news broke out that the entire festy had been cancelled. Various theories on why sprouted up all over the internet but here was the official statement from the organisers:

Our bash is going ahead and we urge you to get involved as organising it with 5 days notice has been a headfuck and we hope you all come out and support it….

reading the above objectively it firstly seems odd to host the party, which by it’ mere title ‘last jubilee’, suggests anti – monarchy undertones, in the royal City of Bath, at the racecourse? and they wonder why it was stopped? if they are not anti=monarchy which they claim in the above the title is misleading and ambiguous. Can t they make up they re minds, will they be refunding tickets? A

We were due to work at Last Jubilee Festival too. Only heard the event was cancelled today (last minute!)! Had already printed t-shirts, moved stock closer to site, got staff in etc. Lost a lot of money from this! Seems very fishy! Was looking forward to catching up with you guys again too! We were at Retro (Bath Racecourse) a few weeks before and sound levels didn’t seem too bad – what do they expect!! Am sure we will hear more about it over next few days. I think it’s the same deal as the Green gathering in Cheddar,Tory scum North East Somerset Council use spurious health and safety laws to wage the ‘Class War’ in reverse against any lefty anti-posh pinko commie crusty new agers etc. They did it to the Green Gathering and fucked a lot of people up financially and probably thought,’we got away with it last time on the dirty hippys let’s fuck the punks over as well ha ha ha ha ha! Why are people screaming tory bias? this was a bunch of incompetent chancers whove basically conned a LOT of people.
this is what happened to Weedworld Magazine, when they tried to hold a hemp fair at the brand new ricoh arena in coventry, it was not going to happen, but the council did not inform WW until a few days before. the aim of holding events like this is by securing a venue that will not back out, and having a contract signed so if they back out you get compensation, its guaranteed Bath did not want this event in their royal town, just remember, although you might pay taxes, and you pay the council their wages, they are tied to queen and government and care more for them than us!
